Awesome Monday

So I had an awesome Monday. Sounds impossible, doesn't it? I mean, the words 'Monday' and 'awesome' really just don't belong in the same sentence.

So anyway, on the 5th of July my friend Christina had her second son. Joshua Gabriel, 9lbs 1oz. I went to go and see the both of them today. I had something of an issue with finding the hospital they were at, but in the end ended up at the right place. I had my camera with me and I took a few pictures, but really not a heck of a lot, and so far I've only edited one of them.

It's a picture of little Joshua being held by older brother Aiden. Aiden is in love with his little brother. He calls Joshua 'my baby' or 'my baby brother' and it's damn cute. :)

Tomorrow I'm actually going to call out from work so I can go pick Christina and Joshua up from the hospital. Her mother was going to pick her up originally, but Cindy (Christina's mother) drives a pickup truck. Christina really doesn't want to have to climb up into it, so I offered to get her instead with my car.

So that's some of my awesome Monday, but not all of it. I'm talking with and hanging out with Jesse again, and we meet up tonight. I had a lot of fun, and am looking forward to the next time we meet up. :)

Yup, I am. I also feel like I'm regressing back to high school. Why?

Well, because in the past three days I've done two things that I haven't done since high school.

Wednesday I forgot to turn the headlights off on my car (it had been raining) when I got to work. Result? Dead battery. Thankfully Samantha was also working and had jumper cables. Huzzah.

Today I was in Newton and stopped at the WalMart before heading over to do the food shopping. What dumb thing did I do there? I locked my keys in my car. Yup, locked the doors and left the keys right in the ignition. This time, thankfully, my mother came a bailed me out. Picked me up, drove me home to get the spare key and took me right back to where we started from.

Both of these things I did numerous times in high school. I don't know why suddenly I did them again. :-/ I hope it doesn't become some sort of blonde habit of mine. xD

Two white tailed fawns were hanging around my yard today. Probably no more then a few weeks old. I watched them for quite a while, and at one point they both came to about four or five feet in front of me.

...I really like this. Like he's hiding in the...whatever it is. Weeds. This one might end up on my deviantart.

Wish I had gotten all his little nose in the shot! :(

I don't know where the doe, their mother, was. In the whole hour or so that I was just watching them, I never did see her. :(

Other then that, not much has been happening.

I got asked an interesting question by a customer at work, yesterday. And by 'interesting' I mean sort of stupid.

I rang her up, totaled out her order, and then told her what she owed. It was something like $140, give or take. So then she turned to me and asks, completly serious and completly rude, "Don't you feel horrible for asking people for that much money?"

I just sort of blinked at her. I mean, really, what? I'm a cashier, it's kind of my job to do that. D:

Life Update

I've noticed that I have a livejournal pattern. I'll post for a few days in a journal, maybe even so much as a month, and then I just completly slack off on it for a year (give or take) before I make another post. Then the whole cycle starts over again.

This is the first post of the new cycle. :)

Not that I have much to post about. I'm pretty much just bored at home at the moment, so this is a time killer.

So how about something of a life update?

I no longer work at the shoe store, Marty's. I got laid off earlier in the year (the beginning of March) because the company just flat out sucks. They were having (and still ARE having, I have no honest idea how the company is still in business) monetary issues and laid off a whole slew of people. I actually was one of the last people to go, not that that's much of a comfort.

I didn't stay out of work for long, though. I soon started working at Mr.Z's, a grocery store. I'm still working there. It's not so bad, and it's a bit closer to home. Plus, now I don't have to pay a dollar just to get over the bridge to get to work anymore. :)

Sadly this year, at the same time I started at Z's, my grandmother passed away. I'm upset that she's gone, I was very close to her growing up, but I'm also relieved to know that she's not in pain anymore. Her last few days were painful for her and to think about it now upsets me even more then remembering that she's gone.

Alright, moving on before the tears start. Or rather, before they get worse.

I'm still taking pictures. Not so much as I would like, honestly, but I still do go out with my camera. :) It's still mainly nature stuff, though I have tried a few portrait type photo shoots with my sister. They were ok...but I think I'll stick with what I'm more comfortable with. When taking pictures of flowers and animals I don't have to try and pose them or direct them where to stand. :) I just have to find the best angle, focus, and ta-da. Beautiful photo.

July is coming (as if you didn't know), and I'm looking forward to it. Not only does my birthday happen in July, but we're going down for our annual visit to Katt and Newton's. And double fun, we'll be there for my birthday. I miss Katt a lot since she moved down there, so I'm always very excited when we start planning for the trip. Oh man, I can't wait! :-D

And that's about all I can think of to write, at the moment. So for now I'm going to head off and find something constructive to do, like what I should have been doing in the first place: cleaning the house.

Today I went over to PEEC and took a little walk through some of the paths there, snapping shots of flowers and stuff as I went. Mostly flowers.

More white flowers, with some buds. Not from the same time of bush as above, though. I have no idea what either of them are. But they make me think of the song 'Edelweiss' from The Sound of Music.

There were a lot of these yellow flowered bushes (I know the name, I just can't rememeber it right now. Gr.) around, and they perfumed the air so sweetly. Well, it WOULD have been sweetly if not for the fact that I kept on sneezing...

Wild violets of some sort. I think. Don't quote me on that.

These trees look so tall. Makes me wonder if this is somewhat what a bug sees when next to a sapling or something. xD

...There WAS a heron on one of the ponds, and I DID get a few pictures. But they all sucked. Badly. Which sort of cheesed me off. I love herons. I think they are the coolest looking birds.

I’m a little irked at something that happened at work. The other day the manger (who’s currently out on disability until something in May) calls into the store and talks to Janet. I’m working on something not to far away, and I hear me name mentioned several times, which automatically gets me going ‘what the heck are they talking about me for?’ I didn’t really have to wait to find out. As soon as she hung up the phone Janet calls me over. She tells me that there’s been a complaint about me. Someone complained about me having my hands in my pockets.

…

What the fuck? So what if I have my hands in my pockets? Why is this some, apparently, big deal? Yeah, it’s a sort of bad habit, but I don’t really think it’s something someone else should be complaining about. I mean really, come on. If someone is going to complain about something, make it something at least worth complaining about. This just annoys me to no end. People can be so stupid things sometimes.

Tomorrow at work we’re suppose to be getting a shipment. I have a feeling it’s going to be a bit of a biggie. They didn’t send us one on Monday, so I think they’ll be making up for it tomorrow. We cleared some space for new stuff today; I just hope that we cleared enough. The store is something of a small one, and it’s already pretty packed.

In news that’s not work-related…

I can’t wait for Saturday. That’s an off day, my first one in something like two weeks. (Sort of. I had a day off on Tuesday from Marty’s…but I worked for Ken. So it doesn’t really count since I was working anyway.) I’m going to kick back and chill, and hopefully play around with my camera a bit. I’m going to try and get Sarah to play model for me, because I really want to try and take more pictures of people and less of everything else. Not that I dislike taking not-people pictures…but I DO want to try something other then nature and performance stuff. Oh, the high school is also putting on it’s showings of “42nd Street” this weekend and I will definitely to be bringing my camera to the performance that I attend.

Speaking of my camera and photography, I’ve been thinking of trying to enter something into the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show this summer. They have photography contests and, well, I’m interested. I know my Aunt entered and won a ribbon for one of her pictures (she has her own portrait business that she runs out of her home) a few years ago or something like that, and I really want to try my hand at it. I think that, if nothing else, it’ll be interesting.

OH! Other interesting thing! Going to Katt’s soon and I can’t wait! I’m so very much looking forward to it. I just need to get away from here for awhile. Not that there’s anything bad happening or anything but…you know what I mean. I think. Sometimes you just want to be away from home for awhile.

So, Sunday I start a second part time job. It's at Marty's Shoe Outlet, a store chain that I worked for before I came back to PA from NJ. Of course, it's not the same store I worked at, this one's a bit closer then the Ledgewood Mall area. I'm going to have to re-learn everything for the store, but that's alright. I'm a pretty quick study.

Other then that not a whole heck of a lot has been happened. On Tuesday Sam and I went over to ESU like we do just about every week for DnD. That was a fun time. Her character kicked it, and mine and Neal's almost did. Only by the grace of 'Daddy Dearest' did we survive. xD

On another note, I hope I'm not getting sick. My throat started hurting earlier, my nose is being all nasty and runny and I keep coughing. I'm hoping it's just like an allergy irritation thing happening since I was sitting next to my Dad's ashtray before and not because I'm really getting sick. Right now I'm drinking some tea with lemon and honey, hoping that'll help a little bit. It's suppose to, right?

I can't wait for it to start looking like spring. I want tree buds and purdy flowers. I've had enough of brown, dead plants. I want them to get all pretty and colorful again.

I really want to go out and 'play' with my camera, but I just can't seem to find anything lately that I want to photograph. I mean, I know there's lots out there that I can, but it's all just so brown and...ugly. Hence why I want spring to start showing it's true colors. 'Cause then things will be all pretty again and that'll make me happy. <3

I'm suppose to go into town today, so maybe I'll just park somewhere and walk around a little. Hopefully I'll see something that catches me eye

I'm about ready to start smashing furniture. Who knew a person could get so frustrated just trying to make room for a tree? Seriously. I really just want to take a sledgehammer and start smashing on things...like the damn dresser that we have in the living room. Yes, a dresser. Like for clothes. In our living room. Why? Because dad doesn't want to/won't get rid of it. Again, why? Because it was my grandparents and "it's a nice piece of furniture."

SO WHAT?!

Yeah, ok. So it's was my grandparents. So are the other THREE dressers that we also DON'T use or need that are scattered around the house. So are the end tables, and the china cabinet, and the hope chest (currently in a place I really don't want it. Moved for the stinkin' tree. Grandma's hope chest does NOT belong in the kitchen next to the garbage can! ) and numerous other items in our house.

I am just so frustrated by it, and probably shouldn't be. But Holy Unneeded furniture, Batman! I want to get rid of some of this stuff. It's just here...collecting dust and crap in the drawers. And because of all the crappy crap in the living room, no matter HOW I arrange things in the living room...it looks nothing less the crap-tacular. And that's just ticking me off to no end.

Ok. So...the work thing is nifty. Lots of driving, lots of mechanics...but you know what? It's a really pretty-ish area. I'm definitally going to be taking my camera with me when I'm up there Monday.

I haven't heard anything from the woman about my photos so far. Oh well.

Dad's been riding my back about getting another part time job. I just started one, and he already wants me to get another one. Geeze, dude. Give me a little time to figure all the junk about this one, first! Does that idea make sense to anyone but me?

Going out with mom and Sarah this Sunday for the first time in about a month. Mom wants to do a portrait thing...which I'm not really feeling. At all. I'd be very happy to get a hair cut and some new sweaters, though. Most definitally. <3

For some reason, just about all night I've had this really insane urge to write something, only everytime I go to I just blank out. Guh. I hate that, totally irratates me. Maybe I should look for a promp online or something, just for an idea.

The DVMS production of Peter Pan was this weekened and was a big ol' success.

Tommorow I'm going with Katt's father and brother, so I can be shown what I'll be doing job-wise. I've got a job! Finally! MONEY! YUS!

Chris sent me a message on myspace. She entered a photo I took of Aiden in a photocontest and won. The woman who was running the contest just fell in the love with the photo and asked Chris to ask me to get in contact with her. Wanted to know if I take nature pictures, which I do. She just might be intrested in having me take pictures from around pike county for her website. It's not a paid job, but it is a type of exposure. Which is freakin' awesome.

Oh and, have you heard? It's December. Christmas is comming. I flippin' love Christmas!

So yeah, I'm in one hell of a good mood just now. And therefor felt the need to LJ it.

I am so sick of having to chase chipmunks, mice, and whatever else small mammals around my basement because of my cat's damn 'Live Catch and Release' program. -_-;

And it ALWAYS happens in the freakin' morning, because my dad is a fucktard who can't close the damn door. He lets the dog out, leaves the door wide open, and goes to sit/sleep in his chair in the living room. My cat goes out. I have no problem with that. She's allowed out. You just have to be sure you close the door after her so that when she wants to get back in you can check to be sure there's nothing in her mouth.

But dad, oh noes...door is WIDE OPEN so she can drag in whatever she likes.

Goddamnitfucker! And you wonder why there are so many flies zipping around the house! D:< And now chipmunks in the basement too!

So I wake up and get to spend the first hour of my morning chasing the damn thing around, trying to herd it back out ther door. Even more I'm not sure if it actually went out. It kind of disappered on me, and while my back was turned my cat bolted out the door herself...but I don't know if she went bolting after chipmunk or something else that was out there!

Damit! GR!

I hate Monday! GRR!

So now after I finish with this I'm going to go downstairs and check again to see if it's still there. If it is, the chase begins again. If not? Halluijah!

Ok...so maybe their not really from the 'Ol' West'...but their as close as I'm going to get. xD Today I went and visited my mother at her weekend workplace, Wild West City in NJ. It's a place where I've been to many times over, and yet for some reason still love it. Wild West City is an amusement park of sorts, a small 'town' built to resemble Dodge City in the 1800s, or something like that.

Here local actors and just general western enthusists get to play at the ultimate little boy fantasy: being a cowboy.

Warning, a bit image heavy.

From one of the many shows they put on daily, "The Kate Fisher Story". I can never remember the whole of it, but it ends with Kate Fisher being shot and dying in her love, Doc Holiday's, arms.

Sadness.

I like how this photo came out though. Their expressions are good for their characters and situations. I just wish the black and white I took of this same scene came out as well! But nooo..she had a huge smile on her face in that one. >_o

The younger brothers of two of the 'cowboys'. They like to get in on the shows when they can, and are always dressed for the era.

Haha. Just reliezed that I haven't updated this again for awhile, so I thought I would now. xD

Still taking pictures. I got a new camera, too. A DSC-H2...it's my baby. I love it to pieces. The reason I got it, though, was in a sad attempt to boost my own spirits after a family death.

My grandfather died in the beginning of August, on the 7th. He went to sleep on Sunday night and just didn't wake up come Monday. A peaceful passing, which we are all greatful for. It was a difficult beginning to the month, but time does heal all wounds though some take longer then others.

Sarah started college this past week, and it's definitally weird not having her here...and her not comming home at 3:30-ish like she would in high school. Something else to get used to. :)

Speaking of high school...we found out what we're doing for the middle school play.

Oh yeah, I'm excited for it. But also kinda anxious about it already...and that usually doesn't happen for a while. I mean, we have to fly the kiddies around the stage. That kinda worries me...but then again I know we'll do alright. Confidance!
